‘I Almost Committed Suicide as a Muslim’- Janet Jackson Reveals

Sister to legendary pop icon and music artist, Michael Jackson last month was reported to be quitting the entertainment industry because of her new religion.

Janet Jackson who is married to Quatari Muslim Billionaire Wissam Al Mana, disclosed that she almost committed suicide because of the restrictions and burden her new life and religion brought upon her, saying it was not an easy transformation.
According to the report from MTV News, she revealed that she has been deprived of almost everything in life, as she could not listen to music, drive a car, wear designer clothes only the “Black Abaya” and could not even move outside her residential home, in Doha as she was always surrounded by heavily armed security men.

Janet Jackson said her new song feat J.Cole “No Sleep” says it all from her marriage, to the difficulties involved in adapting to her new life, the stress involved in being a Muslim wife and the regrets she had due to the choices she made.

Jewish groups protest cancellation of U.S. musician's Spanish concert

Jewish groups protest cancellation of U.S. musician's Spanish concert
MADRID (Reuters) - Jewish groups protested on Monday after a Spanish reggae festival canceled a concert by an American Jewish musician when he failed to reply to a demand to clarify his position on Palestinian statehood.
Matisyahu, who fuses reggae, hip-hop and rock with Jewish influences in his songs, had been due to perform next Saturday at the week-long Rototom Sunsplash reggae festival at Benicassim near Valencia in eastern Spain.
But after pressure from the local supporters of the movement to boycott and back sanctions against Israel over its policies towards Palestinians, the organizers announced over the weekend that they were cancelling his appearance.
"Rototom Sunsplash, after having repeatedly sought dialogue in the face of the artist's unavailability to give a clear statement against war and on the right of the Palestinian people to their own state, has decided to cancel the concert," they said in a statement.
The Spanish Federation of Jewish Communities condemned the decision as cowardly, unjust and discriminatory, saying that Matisyahu had been asked to take a political position because he was Jewish when this was not required of other performers.
World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder expressed outrage at the decision, urging Spanish authorities "to take appropriate action against those responsible for it."
Matisyahu, whose real name is Matthew Miller, made no comment on the controversy on his Twitter or Facebook sites and the organizers said there had been no reaction from the musician, who had a concert scheduled in Brussels on Monday.
The Valencia section of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign had launched a public campaign for Matisyahu's performance to be canceled, saying he was a "lover of Israel" and demanding he make a public statement on his stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The BDS movement, which objects to Israel's 48-year-old occupation of territories where Palestinians seek an independent state, has campaigned against groups and individuals over their links to Israel.
The moves against Matisyahu had led some other participants to cancel their appearances at the festival, according to press reports.

The Liverpool youngster has not yet agreed to switch nationality after meeting with the Super Eagles coach who is positive about the talks held on Monday
Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe won't be ready to play for the Super Eagles this year even if he pledges his allegiance to Nigeria, a top source has reliably informed Goal.
The 19-year-old teenage star, who has been tipped to fill the void left by Raheem Sterling at Anfield Road, is yet to accept a switch despite meeting with new national team coach Sunday Oliseh on Monday.
"Ibe hasn't committed to Nigeria yet but discussions with him were positive because of his acceptance to meet with the crew that visited him," the source told Goal.
"But he won't be ready to feature for the Eagles against Tanzania this year because of the process that entails his switch but he could be ready next year."
Ibe who has featured for England's U19s and U21s scored once in six pre-season games for the Reds who finished out of the top four last term.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has assured players of Nigerian heritage that they will get a chance to dorn the Green and White if they are good.
"You can bet your money that I'm looking at players with Nigerian heritage who have been born or brought up in other countries, I have no choice," Oliseh told BBC Sport.
"Most of these players, let's be honest, very few of them get to play in other nations for a long time, whereas with Nigeria, these players have the chance regularly, if they are good, to play in the World Cup.
"It's definitely something we are looking at and we've started making moves.
"They are welcome with open arms and we'll do all we can to put them in the best situation if they decide to play for Nigeria because Nigeria needs them and they also need Nigeria to become top, world class players."
