Sports column:What will the little boy in him say if ....||will he do a van persie

Abou Diaby after spending almost 13 months on sideline returns to action for the first time when he got 45 minutes on the pitch. 

Abou Diaby made his long-awaited return from injury for Arsenal's Under-21 side on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been out of action since suffering a serious knee problem in the win over Swansea in March 2013.
It was the latest in a long line of injuries since arriving in north London for Diaby, considerably blighting his career for club and country.

But he was finally back on the pitch at the Emirates on Tuesday, as the Gunners' Under-21s lost 2-1 to Chelsea.Abou Diaby divides opinion like nobody else at Arsenal where as before I have been hopeful that this injury would be his last and he'd finally 'do a van Persie'.

Despite his injury nightmare, the French international recently insisted he had never thought about retiring.
He said: "I never had such a long break. I never had a knee injury and it is really weird. You can feel physically there is something different. But I learnt a lot from my injuries. I can keep things in perspective.
"I work hard without asking questions. I work hard because I know in the end I will play again.
"I am still a high level footballer in my mind, otherwise I would have given up. But I never think to give it up."

He has been speaking with courage and confidence we hope he replicate that on the pitch and stay  away from the treatment table and give back Wenger  and Arsenal so much faith the have shown him, especially the manager who has received a lot of sticks from the fans. This is were we ask again will he finally 'do a van persie' what will the little boy in him tell him, will he move on to where he can win trophies? wont Arsenal become a mediocre club? willl his wife tell him she misses Paris? will he disagree with the direction the club is moving or he will join the brigade of nasiri and adebayor for higher pay cheque.

The emirate faithfuls deep down will like him to live to his full potential but the frustration at Arsenal football club is so unbearable that the cant continue living on such hope when the are the pogba's, bender's and so on that are buy able to help keep AFC as contenders. 

Do players take advantage of Arsenal policy, class and the way the handle situation concerning their players and other club issues? Van persie is a typical example, when he should have stayed injury free to win us matches he spent it entirely in the physio-room & wants to win trophy from there. He was one of the reasons we didn’t buy strikers but each season he kept his most preferred position (treatment table) after lighting us up at the beginning of each season. Everybody must take a fair share of the blame not just the management & the manager. After all the years the fans endured with his injury & supported him, he gave them back a season and left at the time we needed him most when the team was being given a new shape with  additions of good players and most annoying was his last comments before leaving us and psychologically his comments affected other players. Well fare well to van pursie at least we are in a better position today than when he was here. Am bringing Van persie into this because of the situation we find diaby today, if  he can’t give us two good season his contract should not be renewed  rather let couqelin come back and fight for a place in the team. He can become the viera and makalele else were instead of bringing us another heart ache when we would have placed our trust on him ‘if’ he starts doing well.

A newly discovered planet nicknamed "Earth's cousin" has just been found 490 light-years from Earth.
The planet, called Kepler-186f, is the first Earth-size planet found in the habitable zone of its star. Only about 10 percent larger than Earth, Kepler-186f is the closest planet to Earth in size ever found in the habitable zone of its star. What else do you need to know about the new alien planet discovery?
Here are five things to keep in mind about Kepler-186f:
Kepler-186f is a history-making find
Kepler-186f is the first Earth-size alien planet found in the habitable zone of its star. That means the planet, which is only slightly larger than Earth, is in the part of its star system where liquid water could exist on the planet's surface. [See artist illustrations of alien planet Kepler-186f]
Astronomers have found other planets in the habitable zones of their stars, but this is the first time a planet this close in size to Earth has ever been found in the habitable zone of its star.
"This is an historic discovery of the first truly Earth-size planet found in the habitable zone around its star," University of California, Berkeley astronomer Geoff Marcy, who is unaffiliated with the new research, said. "This is the best case for a habitable planet yet found. The results are absolutely rock solid. The planet itself may not be [rocky], but I'd bet my house on it. In any case, it's a gem."
Scientists discovered the planet in data collected by NASA's Kepler space telescope.

Life could thrive ... maybe
Because of Kepler-186's location in the habitable zone around its star, the planet might be a place where life can thrive. It's possible that the planet has an atmosphere that can help keep water in liquid form on the surface, a prerequisite for life as it is known on Earth.
Kepler-186f is on the outer edge of the habitable zone, so it is possible that the planet's water could freeze. Its larger size, however, could mean the planet has a thicker atmosphere, insulating the planet, San Francisco State University astronomer and study co-author Stephen Kane said in a statement.
Although they know the alien world is in its star's habitable zone, scientists still aren't sure what the planet's atmosphere consists of, and they cannot say with certainty that Kepler-186f could support life. The planet is Earth-sized, but it might not be Earth-like.
"Some people call these habitable planets, which of course we have no idea if they are," Kane said in a statement. "We simply know that they are in the habitable zone, and that is the best place to start looking for habitable planets."
It is one of five planets in the Kepler-186 star system
Kepler-186f is one of five planets found in the extrasolar system located about 490 light-years from Earth. The newly discovered exoplanet orbits about 32.5 million miles (52.4 million kilometers) from its sun. It takes Kepler-186f about 130 days to orbit its red dwarf star.
The other four planets orbiting the star, however, are not in that "Goldilocks zone."
"The four companion planets — Kepler-186b, Kepler-186c, Kepler-186d and Kepler-186e — whiz around their sun every four, seven, 13 and 22 days, respectively, making them too hot for life as we know it," NASA officials said in a statement. "These four inner planets all measure less than 1.5 times the size of Earth." [10 Exoplanets That Could Host Alien Life]
Kepler-186f is an "Earth cousin," not twin
Scientists have described Kepler-186f as a cousin to Earth. The Kepler-186 star is dimmer than the sun, so the planet may be somewhat similar to Earth in size, but its star is not the same as the sun.
"This [Kepler-186f] is an Earth-size planet in the habitable zone of a cooler star," Tom Barclay, Kepler scientist and co-author of the new exoplanet research, told Space.com. "So, while it's not an Earth twin, it is perhaps an Earth cousin. It has similar characteristics, but a different parent."
A true Earth twin, which exoplanet hunters have yet to find, would be the same size as Earth, but also orbit a sun-like star.
Its star is cooler than the sun
The Kepler-186 star is about half the mass of the sun, and the newly discovered planet is far enough away from its star that powerful flares may not greatly affect the planet, scientists have said. Stars like Kepler-186 also have long stellar life spans.
If Kepler-186f were circling the sun, it would travel within the orbit of the planet Mercury, a planet that is not considered habitable. Because Kepler-186 is a relatively cool, red dwarf star, the planet still lies within the star's habitable zone. The star's brightness at noon on the surface of the planet is comparable to that of the sun an hour before sunset on Earth, NASA officials said.
"This planet is modestly illuminated by its host star, a red dwarf," Marcy said. "This planet basks in an orange-red glow from that star, much [like what] we enjoy at sunset."

In 2008, BMW introduced the X6 and created a new kind of car, the sport utility coupe. An odd blend of high-riding SUV and sporty coupe, the X6 was a hit.
Now Mercedes-Benz is getting in on the action. Today at the Beijing Auto Show, the automaker unveiled the Concept Coupé SUV, a preview of its entry into the segment BMW created and now dominates.
During a preview event at the New York Auto Show, Dr. Andreas Zygan, Mercedes' chief engineer for sport utility vehicles, said the concept is "unlike any we've done before."
The concept is definitely headed for production, Mercedes says, and will sit a level below the 2015 GLA compact SUV. The automaker promises top of the line driving dynamics to make the funky looking car "curve hungry," and says it combines the "best of both worlds."
Asked during the preview if the Concept Coupé SUV is a copy of the BMW X6, global communications chief Christoph Horn simply said, "customers love more choices."

more sophisticated equipment are being introduced to help search for MH370

Perth (Australia) (AFP) - The mini-sub searching for missing flight MH370 has reached record depths well beyond its normal operating limits, officials said Friday as it dived on its fifth seabed mission.
With no results to show since the Boeing 777 carrying 239 people disappeared on March 8, Australia's Prime Minister Tony Abbott has set a one-week deadline to locate the plane which is believed to have crashed in a remote area of the Indian Ocean west of Perth.
Searchers have extended the hunt beyond the normal 4,500 metre (15,000 feet) depth range of the US Navy's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) called Bluefin-21.
"The AUV reached a record depth of 4,695 meters during mission four," the US Navy said. "This is the first time the Bluefin-21 has descended to this depth.
"Diving to such depths does carry with it some residual risk to the equipment and this is being carefully monitored," a statement said.
Australia's Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) announced that the mini-sub had been deployed on a new mission as operations run round the clock.
"Data analysis from the fourth mission did not provide any contacts of interest," it added.
The unmanned Bluefin-21 which maps the seafloor by sonar, has searched 110 square kilometres (43 square miles) to date, JACC said.
The UAV, which hit a technical snag on Tuesday had also re-surfaced Monday after breaching a pre-programmed maximum depth of 4.5 kilometres (2.8 miles).
JACC said Thursday night that the US manufacturer of the UAV, Phoenix International, had advised the risk was "acceptable".
"This expansion of the operating parameters allows the Bluefin-21 to search the sea floor within the predicted limits of the current search area," it said.
The Malaysia Airlines jet is believed to have crashed in the ocean after mysteriously vanishing while en route between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.
Hopes for finding the plane have focused on the Bluefin-21 after signals believed to be from the plane's flight data recorders on the seabed fell silent in recent days.
The submersible is being deployed from an Australian vessel to scan an uncharted seafloor at extreme depths, but Abbott said the Bluefin-21 would be given about a week as questions are asked about the massive costs.
"If we don't find wreckage, we stop, we regroup, we reconsider," Abbott told the Wall Street Journal.
Both Abbott and Malaysia's Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein vowed not to give up looking for the plane.

However suggestions have emerged that more sophisticated -- and highly expensive -- deep-diving equipment may be needed for the search.
"We have to look at contractors, and the cost of that will be huge," Hishammuddin told reporters in Kuala Lumpur, though he indicated that such concerns were not yet testing the resolve of multinational search partners.
"But in any event, the search will always continue. It's just a matter of approach."
Analysts have told AFP the search will be the most expensive in aviation history, with Ravikumar Madavaram, an aviation expert at Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific, estimating the bill at $100 million so far.
"This is definitely the biggest operation ever," he said. "In terms of costs this would be the highest."
Visual searches of the ocean surface have failed to find any floating debris, and the JACC said Thursday an analysis of samples from an oil slick found at the weekend had determined it was not from MH370.
"If the current search turns up nothing, we won't abandon it, we will simply move to a different phase," Abbott said.
JACC chief Angus Houston said earlier this week that alternatives, including devices that can go deeper than the Bluefin-21, were "being looked at", but he gave no specifics.
Houston has repeatedly warned the search will be protracted and demand patience, particularly from distraught families of passengers, who still have no confirmation of what happened to their loved ones.
MH370 has drawn increasing comparisons to the effort to locate the underwater resting place of Air France flight 447, which crashed in the Atlantic in 2009.
It took nearly two years for AF447's flight data recorders to be recovered.

(CNN) -- The phone of the co-pilot of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was on and made contact with a cell tower in Malaysia about the time the plane disappeared from radar, a U.S. official told CNN on Monday.
However, the U.S. official -- who cited information shared by Malaysian investigators -- said there was no evidence the co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, had tried to make a call.
The official told CNN's Pamela Brown on Monday that a cell-phone tower in Penang, Malaysia -- about 250 miles from where the flight's transponder last sent a signal -- detected the co-pilot's phone searching for service around the time the plane vanished from radar.
The details do appear to reaffirm suggestions based on radar and satellite data that the plane was off course and was probably flying low enough to obtain a signal from a cell tower, the official said.
The revelation follows reporting over the weekend in a Malaysian newspaper that the co-pilot had tried to make a telephone call while the plane was in flight.
Asked Sunday by CNN about the newspaper report about a purported effort to make a call by the co-pilot, Malaysia's acting transport minister Hishammuddin Hussein said, "As far as I know, no, but as I said that would be in the realm of the police and the other international (authorities) and when the time comes that will be revealed. But I do not want to speculate on that at the moment."
Underwater search
Efforts to find the missing plane and the 239 people aboard focused beneath the choppy surface of the southern Indian Ocean on Monday as Australian authorities sent a U.S. Navy submersible diving toward the sea floor.
The decision to put the Bluefin-21 autonomous underwater vehicle into the water for the first time in the 38-day search comes nearly a week after listening devices last heard sounds that could be from locator beacons attached to the plane's "black boxes."
"We haven't had a single detection in six days," Australian chief search coordinator Angus Houston said. "It's time to go underwater."

The probe is equipped with side-scan sonar -- acoustic technology that creates pictures from the reflections of sound. Such technology is routinely used to find sunken ships and was crucial in finding Air France Flight 447, which crashed into the Atlantic Ocean in 2009.
Houston cautioned against hopes that the underwater vehicle will find wreckage of the plane, which disappeared on March 8 on a flight between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Beijing that should have taken about six hours.
"It may not," he said. "This will be a slow and painstaking process."
It will take the probe and its operators 24 hours to map each portion of the search area -- two hours to descend, 16 hours to map, another two hours to rise to the surface and four hours for operators to download and analyze the information.
The first mission will cover an area 5 kilometers by 8 kilometers (3.1 miles by 4.9 miles). It will take up to two months to scan the entire search area.
The bottom of the search area is not sharply mountainous -- it's more flat and almost rolling, Houston said. But he said the area probably has a lot of silt, which can "complicate" the search.
New clue on the surface of the water?
Another possible clue into the plane's disappearance emerged Monday.
Australian officials announced the Australian ship Ocean Shield had detected an oil slick Sunday evening. It is unclear where the oil came from. A 2-liter sample has been collected for examination, but it will take a few days to analyze.
"I stress the source of the oil has yet to be determined, but the oil slick is approximately 5,500 meters (3.4 miles) downwind ... from the vicinity of the detections of the TPL on Ocean Shield," Houston said, referring to the pings detected by a towed pinger locator, a wing-shaped listening device connected to the ship by a cable.

It's not the first oil slick detected as part of the search. A similar find in the first days of the search was determined to be fuel oil from a freighter.
Surface search nearing end
Twelve aircraft and 15 ships participated in Monday's search efforts on the surface, covering an 18,400-square-mile (47,600-square-kilomter) area. The surface search was among the last, Houston said.
"The air and surface search for floating material will be completed in the next two to three days in the area where the aircraft most likely entered the water," Houston said.
That search was energized last week when searchers using the Navy-owned pinger locator and sonobuoys detected sounds that could have been from the plane's black boxes, or data and voice recorders.
But after a week of silence, the batteries powering the locator beacons are probably dead, a top official from the company that manufactures the beacons told CNN on Sunday. They were certified to last 30 days, a deadline that's already passed.
That means searchers may not be able to detect any more pings to help lead them to those pieces of the missing plane.
"More than likely they are reaching end of life or already have. If (a beacon) is still going, it is very, very quiet at this point," Jeff Densmore told CNN's "State of the Union with Candy Crowley" on Sunday.
The time is ripe to move on to other search techniques.
"Every good effort has been expended, but it's now looking like the batteries are failing, and it's time to start mowing the lawn, as we say, time to start scanning the sea floor," said Rob McCollum, a CNN analyst and ocean search specialist.
Catherine Tamoh Lion, the mother of the missing plane's chief steward Andrew Nari, said the news that no more pings have been heard is upsetting.
"Our sadness is now just prolonged," she told CNN.
"I feel like they are somewhere," she said of the passengers. "I don't know where. Just praying to God. Miracles can happen. "
