Stand Up for The Champions...The Catalan Kings

Back in January, few gave the Camp Nou outfit a prayer following the Argentine's falling-out with his coach - but they have enjoyed an incredible 2015 to claim the title again
COMMENT
By Paul Macdonald

Congratulations to Barcelona. They are the best side in Spain for the fifth time in the last seven seasons and their victory is all the more impressive given that their campaign was teetering on the brink of disaster just five months ago.

Post-Christmas break, Lionel Messi returned to the camp late and was promptly dropped to the bench by Luis Enrique. Barca subsequently lost 1-0 to Real Sociedad and Real Madrid simultaneously moved into pole position to clinch the title. Meetings were held and Luis Enrique’s position was discussed, not only because of the poor form but because he had alienated Messi, a thoroughly dangerous stance to take.

All the more risky given this came on the back of a series of less-than-stellar results. A surprising home defeat to Celta Vigo, a miserable 0-0 draw in Getafe and a Clasico loss that could have been much worse than the final 3-1 score - these results did nothing to ingratiate the coach to the Catalan support.

Amid the multitude of embarrassments suffered by the club in the 12 months previous – President Sandro Rosell’s resignation, the Neymar transfer scandal and the confirmation of the transfer ban imposed by Fifa – yet more upheaval merely added to Luis Enrique’s woes. Andoni Zubizarretta was sacked from his post as sporting director, followed quickly by his assistant Carles Puyol, who stated that he hoped to see things ‘from another perspective’. The latter’s departure, a figure synonymous with the club’s recent return to greatness, suggested that key players were keen to extricate themselves from the chaotic situation.

Credit, then, to Luis Enrique for reversing fortunes to such a degree that this Barca side are being
considered among the very best of the modern era. He still may not be the favourite of a section of the support and there will be some that will point to the incredible form of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar as making his job straightforward. But from that night in the Basque country, he’s worked as hard as anyone towards reparation.
Firstly, he massaged the ego of Messi, who, like any genius, tends to need reminding of his importance on a regular basis.

“Of course life is easier with Messi,” he told the media. “He does all sorts of things. We see that every day. He is from another planet.” It was one of the many occasions in 2015 he has gone on the charm offensive and while his relationship with the Argentine isn’t unbreakable, it is certainly manageable.

Then, he had to work Suarez through a difficult start. The Uruguayan scored just once in his first eight games following his World Cup ban but his revitalisation has been instrumental. Luis Enrique even admitted having to work through ‘doubts’ about him, but added: "The uncertainty you have when you sign a player is just that, even if he is world-class. You have to get used to a team, your team-mates, the city. It can be difficult. His [Suarez’s] adaptation has been meteoric."

Next, the delicate situation involving Ivan Rakitic, a player who was signed at Luis Enrique’s specific request, but lost the coach’s confidence and was replaced by the veteran Xavi for a short period.

Since the turn of the year he has been restored to the side in a role similar to that which allowed him to excel at Sevilla, in and around the prolific front three. Following the dismissal of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Rakitic heaped praised on his boss, saying: "I think every coach has different ideas, so does our coach, but right now I want to give him thanks from our team because without him this would be impossible.”

Praise isn’t overflowing for Luis Enrique, but it’s difficult to argue with his record if the treble, which is now within tantalising reach, is realised.

It would be remiss to leave Messi’s astonishing form out of the equation, however. Fifty-four goals in 54 games is almost expected from him these days, but it’s the telepathic connection between him, Suarez and Neymar that has been the most exhilarating aspect of the campaign.

Gerard Pique, a player who himself has regained focus and poise, said of the trio: "Being a footballer always goes hand in hand with a certain amount of egotism, but those three really do have a special relationship. They get on superbly. There’s no hint of jealousy and that shows on the pitch."

Suarez's intense work-rate and Neymar's evolution into a more complete player has taken the pressure from Messi; the onus isn't only on him to simultaneously be creative and clinical. He's still the devastating finisher he has always been, but now he drifts between the lines and picks out improbable through balls. He's now the best playmaker in the world, too, and seems to be issuing a threat to mere mortals that in his twilight years he'll be able to drop deep and still be better than all around him. It's ominous for Barca's challengers.

And a dominant Messi almost certainly means a dominant Barcelona. Atletico Madrid's limitations have been exposed this season, while Real look set for yet another rebuilding program that will likely commence with a search for a new coach. Barca even made a good fist at self-sabotage and still emerged victorious. It's a sight that observers may need to get used to.

5 Quotes From Obama That APC Is Very Uncomfortable With

5 Quotes From Obama That APC Is Very Uncomfortable With1. “Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made.”
Obama acknowledges that Nigeria has made tremendous progress that we can be proud of. Listening to the APC’s message you would think that Nigeria is not working, and Obama rightly points out that we have made progress under the present Jonathan administration.
Who would want uncertain change over the chance to keep progressing?
2. “Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions.”
Read the quote again. Obama says there is no going back to military rule. Do we want to go back to being bound by the shackles of dictatorship? Buhari says he is a “reformed democrat” but as we all know a leopard doesn’t change its spots.
3. “You’ve worked hard to improve the lives of your families and to build the largest economy in Africa.”
Contrary to all the lies that the APC has been trying to sell, our economy is progressing, and it did not become the largest economy in Africa by chance but by the good policies of the Jonathan administration. Obama states this fact whilst acknowledging that the lives of Nigerians have improved, and thereby showing the APC to be liars.
4. “Violence has no place in democratic elections — and that they will not incite, support or engage in any kind of violence — before, during, or after the votes are counted.”
When violence is mentioned, Nigerians cannot extricate General Buhari from his famous statement before the 2011 elections and his famous silence after his supporters went wild. The Blood of Dog and Baboon statement recently made concerning the 2015 elections still echoes deeply. The APC is threatening a parallel government also… Obama’s speech is a clear warning against that.
5. “Boko Haram wants to destroy Nigeria and all that you have worked to build. By casting your ballot, you can help secure your nation’s progress.”
Secure your nation’s progress. Don’t change your fortunes.
Obama’s call on Nigeria to secure our progress is like a call to retain President Jonathan under whose presidency this progress has been achieved. As it is ill advised to change a commander-in-chief during war, Nigerians must fight together and eliminate Boko Haram with the armed forces who are presently winning the war and sustain this momentum.
Obama also said: ”in this task of advancing the security, prosperity, and human rights of all Nigerians, you will continue to have a friend and partner in the United States of America.”
Lest we forget, Nigerians are still much aware of the flagrant violation of human rights under General Buhari, resulting in a rupture in diplomatic relations with the UK and others.
What other areas of this Obama speech do you think the APC is uncomfortable with? Watch below:

Can this be true from a leader? watch this Video

"It Must Be A Northerner First Or We Employ Whiteman" - Ahmadu Bello (1960).

There must be a policy of "A Northern first In Nigeria", Good Positions Must be Occupied By Northerners, And Where there is no qualified Northerner, Nigeria will hire a Whiteman on contract.
If there are no White people available, then the North will Consider other Nigerians only on Contract basis, Not permanent and this policy will continue for the foreseeable future.
This Northernisation of Nigeria which we started in 1952 will ensure that all Important post must be held by Northerners.

Deso Dogg: German rapper turned ISIS, ISIL, or IS

Deso Dogg 3490 by foto-di-matti.jpg
Denis Mamadou Gerhard Cuspert (born 1975), also called his stage name, Deso Dogg, is a former German rapper and signed to Streetlife Entertainment, releasing three albums: Schwarzer Engel (2006), Geeni'z in collaboration with Jasha (2008) and Alle Augen auf mich (2009).
He put his rap career on hold after converting to Islam and taking the name Abou Maleeq. He later moved to Egypt and eventually to Syria, to fight on the side of the jihadist anti-government forces, under the nom de guerre of Abu Talha Al-Almani (meaning The German Abu Talha). He was injured during the fighting in the northern-Syrian town of Azaz in an air-strike conducted by the Syrian Army. In 2014 he gave his oath of allegiance to Islamist-Jihadi group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
There are conflicting reports about his death. A number of international media outlets have run reports based on Islamist online sources that he was killed on 20 April 2014 as a result of infighting amongst the Jihadi groups fighting in Syria, after the rival Al-Nusra Front launched a suicide attack against an ISIL post. However German newspaper Die Welt quoted other foreign fighters as denying Cuspert's death and attributing the confusion to the death of another ISIL member who also used the alias of Abu Talha Al-Almani.
The United States Department of State added Cuspert to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists on 9 February 2015.

Crowds of local residents can also be seen surrounding the man, waiting for the impending public execution to commence. The video ends with three ISIS fighters pulling out their knives and beheading their prisoner. Close up shots of the bloodied bodies are shown.
